We just missed out!!!!!!!
This year's attempt to improve on the World Record for the Largest Parade of Motorised Mobility Scooters fell short by only a few. 127 was needed to beat the current record and 124 was the official count for 2011.
Despite not improving on the record everyone who attended had tried their hardest and manged to show the Fraser Coast the importance of the convoy. Highlighting the message of staying independant and safe.
The wonderful sounds of the Hervey Bay RSL Pipe Band led the convoy into Scarness Park following travelling the planned route from the Seafront Oval Ext. to Scarness Park via the Seafront Oval. Everyone was then treated to some wise words from Mayor Mick Krueger and were fed by the Hervey Bay Lions and Older Men Unlimited groups while enjoying entertainment from 'B' Side and Rodney.
We were also lucky enough to have another poem written for the event by Kaye Wyatt who has written a piece sine the very begginning. Copies were handed out on the day and it will be displayed on our website in the next couple of days.
The Hervey Bay Safe Scooter Committee hopes that despite not improving on our record everyone had a great time any way!!
