Every Year the Hervey bay foreshore plays host to an invasion of Fraser Coast seniors on Scooters and Wheelchairs for the worlds largest Mobility Scooter convoy.
The event which is usually held as a part of disability action week in september is a day of fun and achievement for fraer coast residents and is always a highlight of any engaged seniors calender. Event Information for 2012 -
Past Events -
2007 - The first convoy organised as a means of promoting safe scooter practices.
An attempt was made to set a new world record for the longest convoy of motorised scooters but unfortunately was not gained .
2008 - A second attempt made with 97 scooters and chairs participating in this event. Unfortunately despite having the numbers required to obtain the record we also needed a specific length to be travelled on the route and we missed out on gaining the world record due to a short fall in the route length.
2009, Success - We were challanged by Mackay but unfortunately for them they were unable to beat us as Hervey Bay managed to have 126 participants cross the line and gain the World Record.
2010 - saw us try to beat our world record but we fell short by just a few. 119 participants still came out and enjoyed the whole day.
