When ringing "000" the operator will ask you specific questions to ensure that you are connected to the right service, assess the severity of the incident and be able to locate you as quickly as possible. The following is an example of what might be asked:Operator - "Emergency - Police, Fire or Ambulance?" Senior - "Ambulance" Operator - "What town are you calling from?" Senior - "Hervey Bay" Operator - "What state are you calling from?" Senior - "Queensland"
The Operator will then connect you to the designated emergency service using the following phrase: Operator - "I am now connecting you to the Ambulance Service" Once you are connected to the appropriate service they will ask you a number of questions such as:
Specific questions will be asked depending on the nature of the emergency. Most importantly remember to try and stay calm and assistance will be there as soon as possible.DON'T FORGET TO STAY ON THE LINE
